Laventure Watches

Laventure Watches

Laventure is what happens when an industrial designer in Switzerland decides to make watches — not for the market, but for himself — and accidentally

creates some of the most desirable indie steel sports watches in the game.

If you know, you know. And if you don’t? You’re probably too late.

A Little History

Laventure was founded in 2017 by Clement Gaud, a Swiss designer who cut his teeth in product design before launching his own watch brand out of Neuchâtel.

His approach was simple: make one watch per year, in small quantities, with vintage inspiration, thoughtful casework, and zero fluff. The result? A cult

indie hit that now sells out in minutes.

No ads. No influencers. Just design-forward tool watches, made in Switzerland, sold directly to collectors — and never repeated.

What Collectors Love

Every Laventure model is:

  • Limited edition (usually 50 to 100 pieces)

  • Built around a cohesive theme — diver, marine, sous-marine, explorer, etc.

  • Powered by top-tier movements — first ETA, now chronometer-grade La Joux-Perret G100

  • Finished to an absurd level — vertically brushed dials, custom rotors, engraved casebacks, and layered dial architecture

Top models include:

  • Laventure Marine — the original: tropical brown dial, gilt accents, 41mm case with 100m WR

  • Laventure Sous-Marine — a skin diver aesthetic with retro bezel and bold lume plots

  • Laventure Transatlantique GMT — the most complex yet, with a beautifully restrained 24-hour track and field-tested specs

Collectors love Laventure because it feels bespoke, not branded. The design is tight. The attention to detail is high. And the vibe is vintage, but never derivative.

Why Laventure Deserves a Spot in the Indie Hall of Fame

Because it nails what so many others get wrong: scarcity, clarity, and taste.

Clement doesn’t chase the market. He releases what he loves — once per year — and that’s it. No reissues. No colorway bloat. No influencer

campaigns. Just one great watch, built with care, sold to collectors who get it.

And unlike a lot of indie darlings, Laventure watches hold up technically — solid specs, chronometer movements, and quality control that punches

way above its size.

What’s Out There Now

You can’t buy new Laventure watches unless you’re on the brand’s list — and even then, it’s a mad dash.

Everything else is pre-owned market only, and models trade above retail:

  • Marine and Sous-Marine models sell fast — especially green, brown, and bronze dial variants

  • Transatlantique GMT is highly sought after, especially the 39mm format and field-bezel version

  • Box and papers matter — and resale is still strong if kept mint

These watches are indie grails — and supply is always low.

Fed’s Take

Laventure is one of the only microbrands I consistently recommend to serious collectors.

I’ve sold a couple — and regretted letting them go every time. The case finishing is razor sharp. The dials are layered like vintage Zenith. The vibe is

spot on. If I had to pick a modern skin diver that didn’t feel try-hard, this would be it.

They’re hard to find. And worth the hunt.
