Unimatic is proof that less really can be more — if you do it right.
Italian design. Military tool-watch vibes. No-nonsense dials. And a cult following that gets bigger with every drop. If you like your watches stripped down,
overbuilt, and full of taste without shouting for attention, Unimatic should be on your radar.
Founded in 2015 by Giovanni Moro and Simone Nunziato, two Milan-based industrial designers, Unimatic set out to create modern tool watches
with a brutalist, utilitarian aesthetic — something between mid-century military issue and Bauhaus minimalism.
Made in Italy, powered by Seiko automatic movements (originally NH35A, now often upgraded), and produced in limited runs, Unimatic watches
aren’t for everyone — and that’s the point.
They started as a design experiment. They’ve since become an underground icon.
Unimatic is all about form, function, and scarcity.
Core models include:
Design cues collectors love:
They're affordable, but they wear like design objects. And that’s the hook.
Because it nails the rare combo: independent spirit + wearability + design integrity.
Unimatic watches feel intentional. They’re not pretending to be vintage, not chasing heritage they don’t have. Instead, they lean into modern materials,
minimalist layouts, and clever collabs (Hodinkee, Grimoldi, Massena LAB, etc.) to build something new that still respects the tool-watch tradition.
And the price point? Still reasonable — especially for limited-run mechanicals with solid specs.
Unimatic rotates new drops regularly — once they sell out, they’re gone.
Recent editions include:
Most models are assembled in Italy, feature 200m+ water resistance, sapphire crystals, screw-down crowns, and increasingly Swiss Sellita
movements in premium tiers.
On the secondary market, some early models and collabs have become low-key grails.
Unimatic is one of those brands that just gets better the more you look at it.
Every time I’ve sold one, the buyer wasn’t asking about resale value — they were asking about feel, proportions, lume, presence. That tells you everything.
They’re not trying to be Rolex. They’re trying to be useful, beautiful, and limited. And they’re succeeding.
Delray Watch is always on the lookout for unique Unimatic watches — especially Modello Uno (U1) and collaboration models.
