Momo Design Watches

Momo Design Watches

If you know Momo from racing, you already get the vibe: fast lines, bold shapes, and a little bit of Italian attitude.

Momo Design watches aren’t here to compete with haute horology. They’re here to bring motorsport design language to the wrist — with edgy cases, carbon fiber accents

and a wear-it-daily kind of energy.

This is lifestyle-meets-sport-watch, Italian-style.

A Little History

Momo (originally Moretti Monza) started in the 1960s as a racing accessory brand, best known for performance steering wheels, gear knobs, and other automotive components.

In the 1980s, they spun off Momo Design, a Milan-based design lab focused on lifestyle accessories — including eyewear, helmets, pens, and eventually watches.

Momo Design watches took shape in the 1990s and 2000s, leaning hard into tech-forward materials like titanium, carbon fiber, and PVD-coated

steel. The focus was always on form — angular cases, skeleton dials, racing colors — paired with solid, often Swiss-made internals.

What Collectors Love

These aren’t grail watches. But they are fun, well-built, and visually distinct.

Expect to see:

  • Monobloc-style cases with integrated rubber straps

  • Skeletonized dials with visible date wheels, racing numerals, or turbine-style cutouts

  • Motorsport colors — black, red, yellow, and the occasional carbon weave

  • Automatic or meca-quartz movements (depending on era and price point)

Popular models include:

  • Dive Master

  • Evo Chronograph

  • Pilot Pro

  • Tempest — with some stealthy tactical vibes

  • And a host of limited editions linked to automotive or military themes

Why Momo Design Still Has a Place

Because not every collector piece needs to be precious.

Momo Design watches offer affordable Italian design with legit sporty character, and they wear like modern daily drivers — especially if you’re into racing, aviation

or techwear style.

They’re comfortable, sharp on the wrist, and built to take a little heat. Plus, they’re a great conversation piece when someone spots the case shape and asks, “Wait… is that a Momo?”

What’s Out There Now

Momo Design is still active, mostly focused on European and online distribution. You’ll find:

  • Quartz chronographs and three-handers with tactical or pilot design cues

  • Automatic divers with integrated straps and 200m WR

  • Older Swiss-made models that trade better on the pre-owned market — especially those with ETA or Valjoux calibers

Condition varies, but the earlier mechanical pieces are surprisingly solid — and the quartz models hold up well for a sporty weekend option.

Fed’s Take

Momo Design is what I’d call a style-forward sleeper brand.

They’re not built for the collector looking to invest. They’re built for the guy who wants something cool, well-made, and different from the sea of

oversized blacked-out watches with fake carbon dials.

I’ve seen a few over the years — the cases always feel tight, and the dial work is better than you’d expect at the price. If you’re into cars, MotoGP, or just want a watch with edge?

Momo has options.
