Davosa Watches

Davosa Watches

Davosa is Swiss specs without the Swiss markup — turning out well-built, design-forward mechanical watches that often go toe-to-toe with pieces twice the price.

If you want a Sub-style diver, pilot chrono, or classic three-hander that won’t destroy your budget but still delivers real mechanical quality, Davosa deserves a look.

A Little History

Davosa traces its roots back to Swiss watchmaker Abel Frederic Hasler, who began producing mechanical watches in the late 19th century. But the brand as we know it today

emerged in the 1990s, when the Hasler family partnered with Germany-based Bohle GmbH to reintroduce the name as a modern Swiss watch brand with value as its core mission.

Since then, Davosa has carved out a loyal following by offering reliable Swiss movements, classic tool-watch design, and great specs — often in the $600–$1,500 range.

They don’t chase hype. They build solid watches with a clean identity, strong finishing, and specs that punch way above price.

What Collectors Love

Davosa watches are especially popular among dive watch fans, first-time collectors, and value-focused enthusiasts. Why?

  • Swiss automatic movements — typically ETA 2824, Valjoux 7750, or Sellita equivalents

  • Strong water resistance — 200m–500m on many models

  • Ceramic bezels, sapphire crystals, and screw-down crowns standard on most models

  • Classic styling — think Submariner, Speedy, and Flieger vibes without copying outright

Popular models include:

  • Ternos Professional GMT — a full-featured GMT diver with ceramic bezel, date magnifier, and 500m WR

  • Ternos Ceramic — Submariner-style diver with clean lines and bulletproof specs

  • Argonautic — larger case diver with helium escape valve and bold lume

  • Pilot / Newton / Trailmaster — modern field and pilot styles with rugged specs and textured dials

Why Davosa Deserves a Spot

Because it’s one of the best value brands in the mechanical space — offering watches with real specs and Swiss-made credibility at prices that make sense.

They’re not trying to be edgy or avant-garde. They’re not slapping on celebrity endorsements. They just build dependable, good-looking watches that feel like a steal

when you get them on the wrist.

For under $1,000? It’s hard to do better if you’re looking for a serious everyday mechanical.

What’s Out There Now

Davosa maintains a steady lineup of core models and frequent special editions. Expect:

  • Ternos Pro GMT / Ceramic — 40mm–42mm, automatic, ceramic bezel, solid end links

  • Argonautic BG / Lumis / Carbon LE — big 43mm+ divers with serious lume and tool specs

  • Pilot Chronograph — Valjoux-based flieger with twin subdials and high legibility

  • Newton Speedometer / Sport / Classic — everyday automatics with clean Bauhaus or sport styling

Prices range from $600 to $1,500, depending on movement and features. Some LE models or chronos push closer to $2,000.

Fed’s Take

Davosa is one of those brands you almost don’t believe until you handle it.

The bezels are crisp. The finishing is clean. The specs are there. And the movements? Proven Swiss workhorses. I’ve seen plenty come through the shop — and they always

surprise people. Especially the GMTs and Ternos divers.

If you want a tough, handsome tool watch without the brand tax, Davosa should absolutely be on your radar.
