Brellum Watches

Brellum Watches

Brellum is what happens when you give a fourth-generation Swiss watchmaker free rein — and he decides to build watches the old-school way:

by hand, in-house, and to chronometer standards, one piece at a time.

This is independent watchmaking that actually delivers — clean designs, COSC accuracy, and some of the best-finished chronographs under $5K.

If you like your watches no-nonsense, no-middleman, and all-mechanical? Brellum’s your guy.

A Little History

Founded in 2016 by Sébastien Muller, Brellum is based in Porrentruy, Switzerland, and operates as a true one-man independent workshop.

Sébastien comes from four generations of watchmakers and personally assembles, regulates, and tests each piece — often including a photo of

himself at the bench in your COSC certificate folder.

There’s no retail network. No mass production. Every Brellum is sold direct, built to order in small batches, and powered by top-grade Swiss calibers

— heavily regulated and certified.

What Collectors Love

Brellum is best known for its modern chronographs — both dressy and sporty — and its commitment to COSC certification across the board.

Flagship models include:

  • DuoBox Chronometer — vintage-inspired 7750-based chrono with domed sapphire on both sides (hence “DuoBox”), beautiful sunburst dials, and display caseback.

  • Pandial Chronometer — sportier variant with tachymeter bezel, racing-style subdials, and bold colorways.

  • Pilot LE series — limited editions with sector dials, leather straps, and tool-watch styling.

  • Wyvern GMT & Wyvern 5 Days — slimmer three-handers with traveler or micro-rotor automatic movements.

Highlights:

  • COSC certified — every single watch

  • Valjoux 7750 or Sellita SW200-based, often modified and finished in-house

  • Display backs — always, because the movement finishing is excellent (perlage, blued screws, Geneva stripes)

  • Hand-signed quality control docs — no factory shortcuts here

Why Brellum Deserves a Spot

Because it’s a brand that actually builds what it promises — small-batch, Swiss-made watches, chronometer certified, and finished like something

twice the price.

You’re getting personal attention, serious value, and designs that respect tradition without feeling stuck in the past. And best of all?

You’re not paying for retail markup or celebrity endorsements — you’re paying for one guy’s hands on the movement.

What’s Out There Now

Brellum runs a lean catalog with rotating limited editions and small production runs:

  • DuoBox Chronometer — 41.8mm, Valjoux 7750, sapphire domes, 100m WR

  • Pandial Chronometer — sportier, with tachy bezel and panda dial options

  • Pilot LE Chronometers — ~42mm, vintage pilot styling, leather straps

  • Wyvern GMT / 5 Days LE — time-only with travel functions or micro-rotor calibers

  • All come with COSC papers, hard case, cleaning cloth, and numbered certificate

Expect pricing around $2,300–$3,500, depending on model and edition. Pre-owned? Still rare — and often sell close to retail because of the

small numbers and loyal fan base.

Fed’s Take

Brellum is one of those brands I genuinely respect.

Sébastien isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. He’s just building classic Swiss chronographs, regulating them to chronometer spec, and finishing them

like a man possessed. The DuoBox? Easily one of the nicest Valjoux-based watches on the market. The Pilot LE? Great proportions, great legibility, great soul.

If you want real Swiss indie quality, backed by a guy with a loupe and a bench, Brellum delivers.
